One Reason I Love Consignment Stores

Little adorable shoes like these!

Heidi shoes, made in Portugal

The leather is so buttery soft, and Isaac paddled around in them all morning, declaring them "comfortable." We bought them at Lulu's Then And Now and they were just $17. I bet new they are crazy expensive new. They are that kind of soft.

So we're good. The little guy's got nice shoes, and we can now go on VACATION!

If I don't write for a bit, that is why.

Big Hugs!

Maisy Wears Converse!

Takin' a rest in my new 'kicks.

Maisy is a very stylish mouse. We decided that she needed some stylish footwear.

What every mouse and baby need.

My mom made these for the newborn Isaac, but I don't think they ever fit him. Big feet from the beginning!

C'mon Maisy! Stand up!

She is now ready to walk across the windowsill and not get her white paws dirty.

If you would like the pattern, let me know and I'll ask my mom, you can knit them in bigger sizes too!

The Matching Outfits of Father and Son

It happens surprisingly often. I've seen it all over the place, and not just with my own family. Nevertheless here they are, a superb example of matching, and flying on the lovely grounds of the Pratt Art Institute.

Wheee!

And at the top of the Library steps.

I lost my shoes.

It's a classic look: khakis and tan t-shirts. Hidden from view is a triceratops on Isaac's t-shirt. Jeremy's t-shirt shows a perplexed camel.

I Love Girl Baby Clothes

Poufy!

And delicate.

As I looked through a free box on my neighbor's stoop full of lovely sundresses, I felt sad that Isaac couldn't wear them. He's a boy!
That's when I had an epiphany: I don't have to have a little girl to enjoy these clothes. I can wear them myself!

Ha!

Its raining, its pouring...and I don't care!

I think it's just about the cutest thing ever!

Shortees!

I've been doing perhaps a little too much online shopping lately, but some good stuff has come out of it!
Like these "Shortees" pants I bought for Isaac on Etsy.

They are made by Kim West, a creative momma in Philly, PA. I think her tag-line is something like, "Upcycled tees for your shorty!" I like her optimistic take on big used tee shirts :) Very cute! And, I don't know if you can tell, but she used lovely rainbow thread to sew 'em up. A very nice added touch! They do hug Isaac's bum a bit, but hey, what doesn't!?

They also say "My mom rocks", which is very appropriate because I am taking baritone ukelele lessons and learning how to rock, or at least learning the key of G!

Here are the shortees, modeled by the wee Isaac:

I've got a yellow tulip petal, green sandals, and cool pants.

And the doors still won't open!

Springtime Colors

I found these little green sandals in the girl's section of livie and boo, a sweet consignment shop in Prospect Heights. Jeremy can't wait for Isaac to grow out of them since they are bright green, but Isaac loves them so much and almost cries when he says, "saandaals!"

Isaac also loves "fee-owus", and was very happy to carry this daffodil about.
He knows three flowers names now, tulip, dandelion, and daffodil.

Like Daddy, Like Baby

Brown corduroy pants and black puffy coats are a style statement of cool, whether the man is 38 years or 1 year, as exemplified by this father-son combo.

Matchy-matchy!

This photo was taken after Isaac had walked off with a small cowboy stride, all the way to the chain-link fence, a whole two basketball courts away!
