The Kid's Got a Lot to Say

My friend Kyoko asked me what the little guys been saying these days, and the answer is a crazy amount!

Here's a small sampling.

Every morning at 6:34 am (ish): "Mom -may!, I been seeping too yong!" (Mommy, I've been sleeping too long!)

Every night, in the rocking chair, "Want, Dampa has a bai song" (grampa has a belly song), "Want, Grandude makes the bucket go up and down on the tractor song.", "Want D-A-D-D-Y spells mommy song!"" And then, pointing, "Get in crib."

Farm equipment has made a big impression on his vocabulary

He talks about the big yift (the bit lift) all the time. It's working hard down the block from us, lifting supplies to workers renovating a school building. The first time he saw it, he was overwhelmed with joy. Out of breath and holding onto the bars of our window, he recounted the exciting story, "Mom-may!, Isaac and Daddy saw the BIG YIFT! And the yift, it's going up up up UP! And then...going down down down DOWN!"

There is also a big digger on the block behind us. Again, with uncontainable excitement, "Mommy and Isaac heard a big noise in the back of the backyard, and then Mommy and Isaac went to vestigate (investigate), and Mommy and Isaac saw the big gate, and, and, Mommy and Isaac looked through the very nice hole, and saw the BIG DIGGER! Digging a BIG HOLE in the ground!"

When I told him that he was once a teeny tiny baby inside my belly he said, "Eatin' food?" He says often that my sister in law Sophia, "Is a goood cookerr." Which is completely true, and still remembers that her husband, my stepbrother "Jay-pop" (Jacob), made pancakes and strawberries and is also a "good cookerr." Also true.

He nods his head and opens his eyes wide as he talks. Little brown hands are moving all over and feet too, back and forth. It's a full body communication experience.
